After the events of Saturday, a general consensus is that Alex did not come into the fight looking or fighting like a natural heavyweight. He came in looking like he was fresh off of a bender and BBL surgery, getting absolutely destroyed in the cage.
The community got on Jones for taking an extended period of time to put on actual, significant muscle, and train in his new body. No, he wasn’t as defined aesthetically as he was at LHW, but aside from a shitty promo shot he came into that ring looking thick, strong, and sturdy along with having the power to take a 250 lb Gane down like a toddler or mule kick the soul out of (an older) Stipe.
This isn’t about whack-assed, cope-mechanism fan theories like Jones being afraid of NGannou (who literally left the company when Jones returned and UFC tried to sign them on top of going on JRE and admitting to pricing them out because a loss to Jones would ruin his brand.) This thread has nothing to do with Aspinall drama. This is about proven results and I have to look at Alex’s quick transition vs Jones’ with the opinion that it shows Jones’ method was more affective/successful.
What do you guys think?
