“The Doctor” made quick work of her patient.
Road to UFC Season (RTU) 3 winner Shi Ming returned to action in impressive fashion yesterday morning (Fri., May 29, 2026), submitting Puja Tomar with an arm-triangle choke in just over three minutes during the main event of the second episode of Road to UFC Season 5 inside Galaxy Arena in Macau, China.
Ming looked sharp from the opening bell as the Chinese prospect found success on the feet early, landing the cleaner shots before changing levels and dragging Tomar to the canvas. Once the fight hit the mat, it did not take long for Ming to take over.
After advancing position, she smoothly locked up an arm-triangle choke and forced the tap, ending the fight at just over the three-minute mark of the opening round.
Check out the finish below:
The victory moves Ming to 18-6 overall and gets her back into the win column after suffering a setback in her UFC debut last year during the Road to UFC 4 semifinals.
Prior to that loss, Ming had generated plenty of buzz after scoring one of the most violent head-kick knockouts you’ll ever see to earn her UFC contract at UFC Macau in 2024 (watch highlights).
Beyond her fighting career, Ming has one of the more unique stories in the sport.
As for Tomar (9-6), the trailblazing Indian fighter continues to struggle inside the Octagon.
If you missed the first episode of Road to UFC Season 5, former UFC Lightweight Rongzhu also delivered a highlight-reel finish, knocking out Victor Martinez in just over one minute in the main event (watch highlights).
