Saab will participate in EWLive 2026 in Tartu, Estonia, 15–17 September, showcasing its Sirius Compact family of passive Radar Electronic Support Measures (R-ESM) sensors.
At the event, Saab will have on display two live Sirius Compact R-ESM variants: the A21R, integrated on a tethered drone, and the land-based L21R. Together, they demonstrate the flexibility of the Sirius Compact family, which is designed to provide passive sensing capability across different platforms and operational environments.
The Sirius Compact family was first introduced at AOC EW Europe in 2022 and has since expanded with new variants, customers and applications. During the recent AOC event in Finland in May 2026, Saab publicly unveiled the Sirius Compact L24R variant, extending the family with a more strategic surveillance capability.
The L24R features a linear panel array and is designed to be mounted on existing infrastructure, providing dedicated, high-accuracy sector surveillance and early warning, particularly suited for coastal and border regions. As with the other Sirius Compact R-ESM variants, the L24R uses a common interface to the TRS Lite (Tasking & Reporting Lite) ecosystem.
Significant quantities of Sirius Compact R-ESM sensors are already in the hands of multiple customers, with the latest orders further expanding the product family into naval applications. Close cooperation with end users has also resulted in the integration of customer-requested interfaces, including SAPIENT (BSI Flex 335) and CESMO (STANAG 4658 / AEDP-13).
