03.07.2026 – MKE TOLGA Short-Range Air Defence (SHORAD) System has been demonstrated during a live-fire event attended by an international delegation of 64 military attachés, official representatives and civilian participants from 24 countries, including NATO and Gulf states, such as; USA, Lithuania, Egypt, Qatar and Romania.
The demonstration featured seven operational scenarios involving loitering munitions, drone swarms and fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. Throughout the exercise, TOLGA successfully neutralised all designated aerial threats, achieving a 100% success rate.
The live-fire demonstration provided international participants with the opportunity to observe TOLGA’s layered air defence capability under realistic operational conditions.
TOTAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A COMPREHENSIVE AIR DEFENCE
Developed by MKE, TOLGA Short-Range Air Defence System (SHORAD) provides an integrated solution against loitering munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and other asymmetric aerial threats.
Designed in accordance with the “Effective – Simple – Affordable”philosophy of MKE, TOLGA delivers scalable, layered protection through its modular architecture, addressing the evolving requirements of modern air defence operations.
System integrates MKE developed 12.7 mm and 20 mm mobile and fixed weapon stations, anti-drone ammunition in multiple calibres, GÖKBÖRÜ AESA Radar, an Acoustic Detection System, electro-optical sensors, an Electronic Countermeasure (Jammer) System and an advanced Command and Control infrastructure into a comprehensive air defence solution.
MORE LAYERS WITH MKE ANTI-DRONE AMMUNITION
Within its first layer of defence, TOLGA detects incoming threats using its radar, electro-optical sensors and Electronic Countermeasure (Jammer) System, enabling soft-kill engagements at ranges of up to 10 kilometres. When electronic countermeasures alone are insufficient, the system seamlessly transitions to its hard-kill layer.
MKE’s 12.7 mm, 20 mm and 35 mm weapon systems, combined with specially developed programmable anti-drone ammunition, physically neutralise aerial threats. The ammunition is designed to optimise burst timing and distance, creating a dense cloud of metal fragments around the target to maximise the probability of a successful engagement.
35 mm fragmented anti-drone ammunition provides an effective engagement range of up to 3,000 metres, 20 mm version up to 1,000 metres and 12.7 mm version up to 300 metres.
Dual PMT-76 Platform Machine Gun System integrated onto the Mobile Vehicle Platform (MAP DUAL) further strengthens TOLGA’s hard-kill capability against aerial threats. In addition, MKE’s newly developed 7.62 mm fragmented anti-drone ammunition enables infantry units to engage low-altitude drone threats using their standard service rifles without requiring any additional platform or weapon system.
The integration of Laser Weapon System and ENFAL-17 missile will further expand TOLGA’s layered air defence capability by introducing additional engagement options against emerging aerial threats.
ADVANCED COMMAND AND CONTROL
TOLGA’s Command and Control Unit, available in both mobile and fixed configurations, enables all system components to be managed from a single command centre. Supporting remote operation as well as manual, semi-autonomous and fully autonomous operating modes, the system can rapidly adapt to diverse operational environments and mission requirements.
