Fighting games have certainly been branching out their crossovers lately considering we just saw Street Fighter join forces with McDonald’s for a special menu and an M. Bison costume color (for Japan at least).
Now it appears that Bandai Namco is looking to get in on the action a little bit by teaming up with a familiar face in the fighting game community, the WWE.
The official WWE Champions social media account recently shared a post with a teaser image stating “a new challenger has entered the ring,” but perhaps they should have said get ready for the next battle.
It’s pretty obvious from the silhouettes that Tekken characters are going to be coming to the mobile wrestling RPG though we don’t have the exact details on that yet.
The teaser clearly shows Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, King and Armor King, so at least those four should be coming — and the latter two are at least pretty fitting since they are indeed pro wrestlers.
This is far from the first time the WWE has crossed over with fighting games, and it probably won’t be the last either.

There was of course the WWE stars joining the now defunct King of Fighters Allstar game, and there’s more recent examples too.
Mattel is also producing WWE x Street Fighter 2 action figures that dress up the wrestlers as world warriors including John Cena Guile.
It’s not quite the same thing, but we do have a couple of WWE stars acting in the new Street Fighter movie between Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma.
And maybe I’m crazy, but I totally remember downloading a WWE mobile card game for a Street Fighter crossover, but I can’t seem to find anything about it online. I’m not crazy right?
