Refurbishment works at HMP Liverpool have, to date, entailed fully refurbishing 429 cells across three wings. This included bringing cells back into use and converting some double cells into single occupancy cells; enhancing the cleanliness, brightness and sanitation of the wings; improving security features, accessibility, plumbing and ventilation; and installing larger, more secure windows.
