Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was recently released. Prior to release, we were told that the base roster would feature 20 characters made up of Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther, Storm, Wolverine, Magik, Danger, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Peni Parker, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, Carnage, Ghost Rider, Blade, Loki and Deadpool.
While this turned out to be true, it turns out that Arc System Works was hiding an unlockable 21st character as well. Just like with Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game’s final boss can be made playable.
Indeed, Champion is a playable character within Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The method to unlock him is actually relatively simple.
Episode Mode serves as the game’s main single player mode. As of right now, there are five episodes that allows the player to fight against computer opponents through the Fighting Avengers, Unbreakable X-Men, Amazing Guardians, Knights of Doom or the Samurai Outriders.
By finishing the 11th chapter for any of the teams, the player will unlock colors for all four members of the team, as well as Champion as an unlockable fighter. Notably, this effectively means beating the entire story mode with at least one of the teams.
Upon doing this, the player will be greeted with a message, confirming the unlock.
“Congratulations on completing this Episode! You can now use Champion in battle! He does not summon allies when using Assemble Assist, instead performing actions unique to him.”
