I’m back today with another batch of great recommendations for every Nintendo Switch owner.
Last week, we looked at 20 Nintendo Switch turn-based RPG and strategy deals, covering games like Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Unicorn Overlord, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, XCOM 2 Collection, Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark, SteamWorld Heist II, Rogue Waters, and more. This time, we’re keeping the sale hunt going with 10 more picks worth considering.
As usual with eShop sales, prices can vary by region, so the deals below are based on the US Nintendo eShop as checked on July 7, 2026. Also, pay attention to the end dates: some discounts expire on July 9, while most of the Square Enix deals run until July 17, 2026.
Tactics Ogre: Reborn
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: November 11, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $14.99 / was $49.99 / 70% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026
Tactics Ogre: Reborn is one of those names that still carries serious weight among tactical RPG fans alongside Final Fantasy Tactics, and this remaster does more than simply clean up an old classic.
Based on the 2010 version of Tactics Ogre, Reborn updates the visuals, sound, battle pacing, controls, UI, and progression systems while keeping the branching structure that made the original so respected in the first place. Unit-by-unit level system, revamped AI, full English and Japanese voice acting, rerecorded music, and quality-of-life features such as auto-save and the Chariot Tarot rewind system.
The story is about the struggle for control of the Valerian Isles, seen through the eyes of Denam, a young man whose choices can reshape alliances, endings, and the fate of the people around him.
Battles unfold on 3D tactical maps, using different units of different classes, equipment, magic, and skill combinations. For players who love dense tactical systems and morally messy war stories, this remains one of the most complete SRPGs on Switch, and at $14.99 it’s one of the strongest deals in the current Square Enix sale.
TRIANGLE STRATEGY
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: March 4, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $23.99 / was $59.99 / 60% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

TRIANGLE STRATEGY is another obvious pick for tactical RPG fans, especially if the thing you loved most about the genre was always the combination of battles, political drama, and painful decisions.
Set in Norzelia, it follows Serenoa Wolffort and his companions as they’re pulled into a conflict where choices can shape the direction of the story. The Scales of Conviction system gives major decisions real weight, as allies vote on which path to take and can be persuaded before the choice is locked in.
TRIANGLE STRATEGY leans heavily into grid-based tactical combat featuing, flanking, elevation and elemental reactions.
High ground can change the flow of a fight, enemies can be attacked from multiple sides, and elemental interactions can turn the map itself into a weapon. Add the HD-2D presentation, multiple routes, and a cast built around different convictions and skills, and you get one of the best modern strategy RPGs on the system. At $23.99, it is also a much easier recommendation for anyone who skipped it at full price.
OCTOPATH TRAVELER II
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: February 24, 2023
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $23.99 / was $59.99 / 60% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

OCTOPATH TRAVELER II is one of the safest recommendations in this whole batch. It keeps the structure that made the first game stand out, eight protagonists, eight personal journeys, and a flexible party-building system, but improves the flow, the world, and the overall sense of adventure.
This time, the setting is Solistia, a more varied world shaped by different cultures, industries, and a day/night cycle that affects how characters interact with people around them.
The combat remains built around the familiar Break and Boost system, where exploiting enemy weaknesses opens them up and spending stored boost points can turn one strong action into a decisive one.
Outside combat, each traveler has Path Actions that let them recruit NPCs, gather information, obtain items, challenge characters, or influence the world in their own way. You don’t need to have played the first game to enjoy this sequel, either, which makes this $23.99 price a very strong entry point for anyone looking for a polished, traditional turn-based JRPG on Switch.
Persona 5 Royal
Developer: Atlus
Publisher: SEGA
Release Date: October 21, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $17.99 / was $59.99 / 70% off
Sale Ends: July 8 PT / July 9 ET

Persona 5 Royal hardly needs an introduction at this point, but this sale makes it hard to ignore. The Switch version brings Atlus’ massive social-sim JRPG to a portable format, combining everyday student life, stylish dungeon crawling, turn-based battles, Persona fusion, confidant stories, and one of the most recognizable casts in modern Japanese RPGs.
During the day, you manage school, friendships, jobs, activities, and social links; inside Palaces and Mementos, you build a party of Phantom Thieves and exploit enemy weaknesses in flashy, fast-paced turn-based fights.
The Switch release also includes previously released downloadable content, which makes this a very complete package for newcomers. At $17.99, it’s one of the biggest names in the sale and easily one of the most clickable deals for a Switch RPG audience.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: July 26, 2019
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $41.99 / was $59.99 / 30% off
Sale Ends: July 8 PT / July 9 ET

The discount on Fire Emblem: Three Houses is smaller than most of the others here, but first-party Nintendo RPGs don’t always get the same deep cuts as third-party releases.
That alone makes this one worth considering, especially because Three Houses is still one of the defining tactical RPGs of the Switch era.
The academy structure gives the game its own rhythm. You’re not just moving units across maps; you’re shaping students, building relationships, managing classes, training weapon skills, and deciding which house’s story you want to follow.
That mix of strategy, character growth, route variation, and social interaction is what made Three Houses so easy to obsess over. Anyone who likes tactical battles but also wants a long-form RPG with meaningful character investment should still have this near the top of their Switch list.
DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: November 14, 2024
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $29.99 / was $59.99 / 50% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake is a great deal for players who want something classic, clean, and foundational.
This is a reimagining of one of the most important JRPGs ever made, presented with Square Enix’s HD-2D style and modern conveniences while keeping the spirit of a traditional party-based adventure. The story follows the child of the hero Ortega, summoned on their 16th birthday to take on the quest their father could not finish and defeat the Archfiend Baramos.
You recruit allies, choose their vocations, adjust their look and voice, and build a team around classic roles like Warrior, Priest, Mage, Thief, Martial Artist, and more. Combat sticks to classic turn-based commands, with monster weaknesses, character skills, and party composition carrying the experience.
It’s not trying to reinvent the genre from scratch, but it’s more about making a legendary RPG feel vivid and approachable again. At half price, this is a very easy pick for anyone who wants a cornerstone JRPG on Switch.
MADO MONOGATARI: Fia and the Wondrous Academy
Developer: Idea Factory / Compile Heart / STING
Publisher: Idea Factory
Release Date: July 29, 2025
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $19.99 / was $49.99 / 60% off
Sale Ends: July 9, 2026

I didn’t know this one, to be honest, but I think it deserves the mention thanks to its 60% cut off. MADO MONOGATARI: Fia and the Wondrous Academy is, in fact, the more niche pick on this list.
The series began as a first-person dungeon-crawling RPG line from Compile in the ’80s and ’90s, and it also has historical ties to Puyo Puyo, which spun off from the Mado Monogatari universe. This new entry follows Fia, a girl who enrolls in the Ancient Magic Academy and tries to become a Great Mage while dealing with classes, classmates, strict professors, and mysterious happenings.
Gameplay mixes dungeon crawling, character growth, school-life activities, and magical battles. Nintendo’s page describes randomly generated dungeons, turn-based battles, Magic Artes, Elemental Orbs, a Grimoire progression system, quests, mini-games, cooking curry for dungeon boosts, and equipment synthesis.
It’s probably not the first name someone thinks of when talking about Switch RPG deals, but at $19.99 it becomes a much more tempting curiosity for players who like cute magical settings with dungeon-crawler bones.
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: March 27, 2025
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $17.99 / was $29.99 / 40% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is for players who want something stranger than the usual JRPG template.
The story is built around two protagonists, Gustave and Wil, whose lives unfold from very different positions within the same world. Gustave is tied to royal bloodlines, politics, and conflict between nations, while Wil’s path leads toward excavation work and a deeper calamity hiding beneath the surface.
The game’s History Choice system lets players experience events in fragments, slowly assembling a broader history.
The remaster also adds a lot beyond visual cleanup. The watercolor-style graphics have been upgraded, the UI has been rebuilt, new events and playable characters have been added, and systems like Parameter Inheritance, high-speed functionality, New Game+, enhanced bosses, and Digger expeditions make this version smoother and more complete.
SaGa games are often unusual, sometimes demanding, and rarely designed like standard comfort-food JRPGs, but that’s the charm. For players willing to meet it on its own terms, SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is one of the most interesting discounts in the current sale.
CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION
Developer / Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: April 7, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $7.99 / was $19.99 / 60% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

At less than $10, CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION is an easy classic JRPG recommendation.
This remastered edition brings back CHRONO CROSS, an RPG built around parallel worlds, dimension-hopping drama, and a huge cast of more than 40 recruitable characters. The remaster includes HD character models, refined illustrations, higher-quality background music, battle enhancements, auto-battle, encounter toggles, screen resolution options, and the ability to switch between visual/font styles.
The other big reason this edition matters is RADICAL DREAMERS – Le Trésor Interdit –, the text-based audio novel that helped form the foundation of Chrono Cross.
Having both together makes this release more than a simple remaster; it gives players a better look at the strange connective tissue around one of Square’s most fascinating RPG worlds. It may not be as universally beloved as Chrono Trigger, but Chrono Cross has its own identity, and this price is low enough to make it an easy backlog addition.
FINAL FANTASY IX
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: February 13, 2019
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Current Deal: $6.29 / was $20.99 / 70% off
Sale Ends: July 17, 2026

FINAL FANTASY IX is another under-$10 classic, and still one of the most beloved entries in the series.
The Switch version brings Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, Steiner, and the rest of the cast to a portable format with high-definition movies and character models. The story starts with a kidnapping that doesn’t go as planned, then grows into a much larger journey about identity, the Crystal, and a force threatening the world.
Final Fantasy IX remains a character-driven ATB JRPG with equipment-based ability learning, Trance transformations, synthesis, and a surprising number of side activities, including Chocobo Hot and Cold, Jump Rope, and Tetra Master.
It is warm, theatrical, melancholic, and very easy to recommend to anyone who wants a traditional Final Fantasy adventure on Switch. At $6.29, it’s one of the cheapest major RPGs in the sale, and a great way to close out the list.
