Season 4 for Street Fighter 6 will feature Yasmine, Arjun, Tifa Lockhart (who is guest appearing from Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7) and Bosch. Yasmine is the first character to be released, and she’ll be packaged alongside a major balance update on August 3, 2026.
This is a unique season for Street Fighter 6 considering that every character joining throughout it are newcomers. It’s fairly similar to Street Fighter 5’s Season 2 (excluding how Akuma was a returning character).
Not too long ago, Street Fighter 6 Director Takayuki Nakayama informed fans about how Arjun is a particularly unique combatant within the game. In some manner, he will feel different compared to the rest of the roster thus far.
Of course, Nakayama wasn’t able to give too many more details beyond that. Ultimately, we’ll just have to wait until we’re closer to Fall 2026 to find out more about the newcomer.
“Arjun is a very unique character that’s going to feel very different from everyone else,” said Nakayama. “And we can’t go into specifics, but I will say that there will be some kind of dancing element to his gameplay.”
Within the same interview with IGN, Nakayama also provided some information about Bosch, who is slated to be released last for Season 4 in Spring 2027.
Bosch played an integral role in Street Fighter 6’s main single player mode, World Tour. He effectively acted as the rival for the player avatar, but he often worked alongside players for specific quests as well.
“And while you were able to fight against him and you were able to see his fighting style through World Tour, he will have a completely different style from World Tour.” — Takayuki Nakayama
Initially, Bosch starts out as a practitioner of Luke’s fighting style. Eventually, however, he is captured by some branch of Shadaloo. His personality and moveset receive transformations as he dons a new persona, the “Cardboard Combatant.”
Technically speaking, Bosch has a new moveset, but this event has effectively been retconned thanks to the introduction of Ingrid’s interactions with the player avatar within World Tour. Thanks to her power, players are able to undo the events that lead to Bosch becoming the Cardboard Combatant, as well as his demise at the end of the the World Tour’s main story.
Needless to say, it wouldn’t be very interesting for Bosch to simply be a clone of Luke. Fortunately, Nakayama has confirmed that Bosch will feature an entirely unique moveset when he becomes a playable character in Spring 2027.
“And for Bosch, for those who did enjoy World Tour, he was one of Luke’s disciples. And while you were able to fight against him and you were able to see his fighting style through World Tour, he will have a completely different style from World Tour,” said Nakayama. “So, you can expect something unique, different from that.”
