It’s been over three years since Street Fighter 6 released on June 2, 2023. We’ve already had some of the most incredible rivalries form within the tournament scene.
One such match up pits Varrel|Tokido up against WBG|MenaRD. Though Tokido was previously known for playing Akuma and Ken in Street Fighter 6, he’s been putting in work with JP.
Retired competitor Kakeru has apparently been coaching Tokido in the ways of JP. As such, this demonstrates a top level performance against the world’s best Blanka user.
We also have a match featuring RDE|BigBird’s C. Viper against RB|Bonchan’s Sagat. Both of the Season 3 DLC characters have become top tier threats in the Season 4 meta.
Another match up had Capcom Cup 11 runner up Blaz taking on Capcom Cup 12 champion G8S|Sahara. Blaz ends up using Ryu while Sahara is playing as Jamie.
Of course, the character that Sahara won Capcom Cup 12 with, Ed, has been nerfed heavily in Season 4. Needless to say, it would seem that Sahara believes more in Jamie than Ed at this point.
