DeNA Co., Ltd. has announced to shutdown its fantasy turn-based strategy RPG, Pokémon Masters EX, in Turkey on December 23, 2026. The decision follows previous shutdowns in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Russia and only affects players in these specific countries.
Pokémon Masters EX Turkey shutdown announced, global version unaffected
If you’re unaware, Pokémon Masters EX is a turn-based strategy title set in the beloved Pokémon universe, where you can team up with familiar trainers and their Pokémon. The game brings together characters from across the franchise, letting you experience original stories and take part in battles alongside your favorite pairs.
Unfortunately, the Pokémon Masters EX team has confirmed through its official website that the game will end service in Turkey on December 23, 2026. According to the announcement, the shutdown will follow an “update scheduled for” that day. They haven’t shared a reason behind the decision.
As mentioned in the in-game notice, players in Turkey will still have access to all the game’s features until the end-of-service date. Once service ends, the game will no longer be playable, even if it remains installed on a device. However, if you’re not from Turkey, you can continue enjoying the global version.
The situation is pretty sad for fans of the region. That said, fans on Reddit are discussing whether recent “amendments to Türkiye’s advertising rules” could be the reason. This is not the first time, as Pokémon UNITE also discontinued Turkish language support last year, although that was not a shutdown.
