The new Street Fighter movie finally received its first full trailer this week, and of course there’s even more promotion to be done for the project.
Legendary and Capcom have now released a number of new posters for the fighting game adaptation, which not only gives us more looks at the cast, but may also clue us in on where some allegiances may lie.
There is one poster that features the complete collection of world warriors though we’re a bit more interested in the ones that split them up.
The first that uses most of the same images as the complete features Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Dan, Dhalsim, Guile, Joe and E. Honda.
Meanwhile, the other has M. Bison, Cammy, Akuma, Juli, Don Sauvage, Blanka, Vega, Zangief and Balrog.
So the way things are set up here, it seems like we’re probably looking at the “heroes” and “villains” side of the roster.
Obviously, characters like Bison and Vega were always going to be on the bad side, but this could imply that Zangief and Blanka are antagonists too in some fashion.
Although Zangief is portrayed as a pretty righteous guy in the games, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s joined the bad guys in outside media since the Russian wrestler was with Shadaloo in the original 1994 Street Fighter movie as well as his inclusion in Wreck It Ralph.
Cammy’s been part of the hero squad for a long time too, however, it seems they’re going with something closer to her Street Fighter Alpha iteration still working under Bison.
There’s not a ton of details about what’s going on in this new film’s plot, but we do know some things from the earlier synopsis and from this trailer.
It is confirmed the movie takes place in 1993 and will at least somewhat center around the second World Warrior Tournament apparently hosted by M. Bison.
Chun-Li travels around to recruit martial artists to join her cause in taking the dictator down where Ryu and Ken appear to have had a falling out sometime before the start of this story.
The fighting game adaptation’s cast includes Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Jason Momoa (Blanka), David Dastmalchian (M. Bison), Olivier Richters (Zangief), Roman Reigns (Akuma), 50 Cent (Balrog), Cody Rhodes (Guile), Mel Jarnson (Cammy), Orville Peck (Vega), and more familiar characters largely pulling from Street Fighter 2.
Street Fighter is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
You can check out all of the new Street Fighter posters below, and while we’re not entirely sure the one from our friend BossLogic is official, we’ve included his too at the end since it’s a neat callback to the iconic Street Fighter 2 artwork.
