Coming into her main event fight against Ketlen Vieira last night (Sat., Aug. 22, 2026) at PFL Tampa, the talk around the water cooler was that Cris Cyborg was going to retire win, lose or draw. But judging be her post-fight victory speech, it doesn’t seem as if the vicious striker is ready to walk away just yet.
Onto the fight itself, Vieira — who disqualified herself from fighting for the Featherweight title after missing weight — came to fight and was determined to not be another highlight reel on Cyborg’s impressive resume amassed over two decades. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) c0ntender stood toe-toe-toe with the Brazilian bruiser, giving her all she could handle over the course of 25 minutes of action.
But, as usual, it was Cyborg who was dictating the pace and winning most of the exchanges on the feet. While she didn’t get the finish she would have liked, she left no question that she did enough to earn a clear-cut unanimous decision win, giving her win number 30 in her pro career, improving to 30-2-1 overall.
Check out some of the highlights below:
Afterward, Cyborg did not commit to retiring, and further fueled talks of continuing her combat career by once against calling out the self-proclaimed “GWOAT” of female boxing, Claressa Shields, who Cyborg has repeatedly accused of ducking her.
Furthermore, Cyborg took the opportunity to shift her attention to current women’s Bantamweight champion, Kayla Harrison, who was present for the event. While she did wish her a speedy recovery from her neck issues, she accused her of ducking, as well, and said that she would be waiting for her inside the MMA cage should she eventually get through Amanda Nunes.
What are the chances any of those two fights in the future?
