Resolution Games released the Warlock Update for Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, adding to the cooperative, tabletop-style tactics role-playing game.
It now features the ability for players to add a Warlock to their playable heroes and new end-game content. Developed as a DM-less experience inspired by the tabletop adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, Battlemarked allows up to four players in cross-platform co-op play, allowing players to join together regardless of platform (PC, Console, XR). Thus, the update was implemented across the entire ecosystem of the game and not through any singular build of the game.
The most significant addition in the patch is Azruss Drevontir, a Human Warlock, as well as his accompanying class deck. The deck is centered on using pact magic, positioning, curses, and volatile, high-risk strategies.
The developer intends for his kit to encourage players to coordinate with greater precision. He comes with new cards, traits, weapons, and color customization options related to his class. To unlock Azruss permanently, players will have to complete a new side quest called The Shard’s Shadow, in Campaign 2, Crown of Frost. Once completed, he will be unlocked for use in subsequent campaigns.

Additionally, the patch introduces Auril’s Cradle, a new One Shot set within the frozen north. This is described as one of the tougher combat tests currently in the game. A player’s access to the One Shot will be unlocked once they unlock Ythryn in the second campaign, providing a feeling of being targeted towards players already deep in the progression loop of Battlemarked.
To round out the additions, the patch expands support to include Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese languages. As a cooperative-based game, Battlemarked relies greatly on players’ coordinated efforts and tactical planning with their fellow party members.
The systemic additions are mostly focused on making improvements to the multiplayer aspect of the game as well as to the overall difficulty.
Phase 2 of the redesign of the Hirelings feature removes hirelings from multiplayer completely. Now, every hero in a party must be created and progressed by a player. In addition to these changes, Resolution Games has implemented Tymora’s Blessing as a bad luck protection system for when a player misses attack rolls.
They have also implemented elite enemy variants and boss variations in One Shot dungeons based on the level of difficulty selected. Finally, there were also the addition of respawn toggle buttons as well as other balance, and quality-of-life changes.
The update is now available for download on the Steam, PlayStation, and Meta Quest platforms.
