Employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention waiting for the agency to process their accommodation requests for disabilities and medical conditions are facing an imminent deadline to submit supporting medical documentation – even if they have already done so. CDC, in an email sent on Aug. 20, told employees with pending reasonable accommodation requests that they must resubmit their supporting medical documentation within 20 calendar days. An underwater drone shown by Iran closely matches the American-designed Anduril Dive-LD model. The large AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) was reportedly captured in the Straits of Hormuz earlier today. Iran’s IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) claims to have captured an American underwater drone. While currently uncorroborated, evidence shared by the IRGC through public channels appears credible.  The photograph shared online of a partially submerged drone closely matches the American-built Anduril Dive-LD underwater drone. Ukraine is contracting a supply of around 1,000 missiles for U.S.-designed Patriot air-defence systems with the help of allies and through a European Union loan, Kyiv’s defense minister said on Tuesday. Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 triggered sweeping international isolation for Russia and stretched the nation’s resources. Nonetheless, Moscow has intensified its engagement with several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). In this paper, the authors examine Russia’s activities in LAC—specifically in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Brazil—and how these activities have advanced its strategic aims across the region as a whole and with respect to its key partners.
