I put together a recap video covering the best turn-based RPGs released in 2026 so far. This Spend Matters Vendor Analysis provides an overview of Trust Your Supplier (TYS) and its solution for supplier information management (SIM).  Procurement’s longstanding challenge is no longer data collection but data confidence.  Every decision from onboarding a local contractor to engaging a strategic supplier relies on information that is not only complete but verifiable, current and shareable across systems.  This demand for trustworthy data has collided with another megatrend: the proliferation of regulatory and ESG reporting mandates that depend on supplier accuracy. Organizations are discovering that fragmented supplier master data, multiple portals and static questionnaires cannot sustain compliance, resilience or speed.  These are the types of challenges Trust Your Supplier is meant to address by serving as…

While the full impact of operating under continuing resolutions is difficult to quantify across the Defense Department, a government watchdog found that stopgap funding measures have led to program delays, increased costs, administrative burdens and operational challenges.  For the past five decades, the Pentagon has relied on temporary funding measures at the start of nearly every fiscal year — the department has operated under continuing resolutions in all but 12 of the last 49 years. In eight of the past 15 fiscal years, those continuing resolutions lasted more than three months.  The Government Accountability Office has previously examined the effects…

This was shared by Spuhr on Instagram. When the Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913) was originally designed, it was intended to use only the 45-degree angled surfaces for clamping and reference (highlighted in green on the drawing). The tolerance to the top flat surface was deliberately made very large. Advantages of the original design (green surfaces): • A QD mount can be attached and detached on a huge variety of rails with extremely tight control — total width tolerance is only about 0.1 mm! • This makes the system very forgiving of manufacturing variations between different rails. Disadvantages: • The mount will…

Amazon Web Services has enabled nested virtualization for a handful of EC2 instances. Nested virtualization involves running a hypervisor inside another hypervisor. It is not an entirely bonkers idea because it offers the chance to create a test or simulation environment for the collection of linked VMs that makes up many enterprise IT setups. The technique can also be useful in production for containerised workloads, which often see tools like Kubernetes and Docker run in a VM, and every container running in its own VM. Amazon suggests its new feature might come in handy “running emulators for mobile applications, simulating…
