The official X account for Apex Legends dropped an interesting Tweet recently. They seem to be hinting at a collaboration with Capcom’s Street Fighter, which would most likely reference Street Fighter 6 considering how it’s the most recent entry in the series.
We’ve already seen that Capcom is willing to collaborate with Fortnite by allowing players to dress up as Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile and Cammy. It was a bit jarring at first to see Ryu using firearms, but it’s a concept that we’ve all gotten used to at this point thanks to Fortnite.
Needless to say, a collaboration between Street Fighter and Apex Legends doesn’t seem all that farfetched. As such, we’ll probably receive word about Street Fighter costumes for Apex Legends in the near future.
Within the aforementioned Tweet, Apex Legends highlighted the classic quarter-circle forward motion with a punch button. This is traditionally known as the “fireball motion” to most Street Fighter fans.
More than likely, at least one of the characters with access to the fireball motion will have a costume within Apex Legends. A Shoto such as Ryu and Ken seem highly likely considering their recognizability.
Luke is also a good candidate considering how he’s considered to be the main character in Street Fighter 6. It also helps his case that he has a military background, so it actually would make sense to see him utilizing firearms in Apex Legends.
