Our review for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game details why there’s a lot to love about the gameplay and characters, but also why it’s a bit disappointing for the title’s missing features and polishing touches.
The developers do seem to be working quickly to rectify the launch issues with Avatar Legends and have now released the game’s first update in less than a week.
They just dropped the patch notes for said update, which contains a handful of additions and fixes that players have been asking for — though it doesn’t address many of the biggest complaints yet.
Avatar’s update adds the Samurai Appa support skin as well as the Deluxe Edition colors for Steam users.
PC players got the option to remap keyboard controls plus more general fixes and improvements that they don’t go into detail on, but sounds like it fixes some of the Trial mode bugs and other features.
This patch, however, does not add the promised missing modes like Ranked and Spectator as well as the expanded lobbies, so hopefully those will be ready soon.
It appears the problem of third-party controllers not working in the game hasn’t been solved yet either.
Interestingly, they note this update is currently only available on the PlayStation 5 and PC while the Nintendo Switch players will get it later.
This all comes after they announced the Xbox version of Avatar Legends was being delayed by over a month just hours before it was supposed to release, but the team says they’re working with Microsoft to fix the one issue holding them up.
