It took a while, and there were many twists and turns, but finally Terror: Endless Night has a final destination.
Developers Unseen Silence and Fallen Leaf announced that their turn-based strategy survival game, which has been in development for over five years, will release on PC in Q4 2026, followed by a release on consoles sometime in 2027.
There was no mention of when the actual PC release date would be finalized. The developers did say they plan to announce the final release date at least six months prior to the PC launch, in Q3 2026, after they reach the last stages of development and begin preparing for launch.
The game takes place in the late nineteenth century and is based upon true stories. Players take on the role of sailors aboard a rescue vessel attempting to find HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. Initially, the mission is to find these two Royal Navy ships that disappeared during an arctic expedition.

However, the search quickly develops into a fight for survival against the elements, the cold, darkness, and the breakdown of both the physical and mental health of each member of the crew.
Terror: Endless Night evolves beyond being simply a historical survival story. As players navigate the harsh environment, they must manage their crew members, distribute duties, organize food and other provisions, create laws and policies, and make choices that could negatively impact crew morale, discipline, and ultimately survival.
In addition to managing their crew, each sailor has unique abilities or skills, while the condition of the ship itself represents yet another challenge to overcome.

It’s this combination of turn-based strategic planning, resource management and psychological stressors that contribute to Terror: Endless Night having such a bleak reputation within the survival strategy genre.
The latest release date announcement provides additional background information regarding the many challenges faced by the development team since the game’s creation more than five years ago.
The developers describe how Terror: Endless Night began with nothing more than a rough sketch and a spreadsheet containing ideas roughly five plus years ago.

They have cited several delays and numerous setbacks, including internal changes, production problems, and typical studio difficulties experienced by a small independent studio developing an ambitious strategy title.
The team stated they plan to publish a series of developer diaries featuring updates regarding their progress towards completing the game, as well as provide insight into various aspects of game design and development.
Right now, though, all anyone really cares about is that Terror: Endless Night is coming to PC via Steam later this year (Q4 2026), while console players will have to wait until next year (2027).
