Supercell’s Clash of Clans is gearing up for yet another update this April 2026, which is expected to be a solid one. A mix of officially confirmed changes and a few leaks is already making the rounds. Before the update arrives, here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming.
Clash of Clans April 2026 update explained
Ranked Mode changes
So what’s officially confirmed is the Ranked Mode overhaul this April 2026, continuing the adjustments that began earlier this year. After addressing progression issues and player burnout back in January, this update builds further on those changes.

The split of Legend League into three tiers is a major change: Legend I, Legend II, and Legend III. This helps balance matchmaking and separates you based on skill level rather than keeping everyone in one crowded tier. Rewards remain the same, so you’re not missing out on loot, but the climb now feels more structured.
Outside of Legend League, the overall experience is being made easier to manage. Higher leagues now require fewer battles, and inactivity penalties are much more forgiving. You can stay inactive for up to four weeks without dropping, and even after that, demotions happen gradually.
New Dragon Duke hero equipment
Following its arrival in Clash of Clans, Dragon Duke might be getting new hero equipment. Electro Fangs is what the name suggests to be, and it might have a chain-type damage like Electro Dragons, but not as powerful as the original.
New troop and building levels expected
Alongside Ranked changes, new upgrade levels are expected across multiple categories. These upgrades are mainly aimed at higher Town Hall levels, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Buildings | Workshop (Level 8) Army Camp (Level 14) Scattershot (Level 7) X-Bow (Level 13) |
| Troops | Goblin (Level 10) Yeti (Level 8) Dragon (Level 13) Root Rider (Level 4) |
| Spells | Rage Spell (Level 7) Freeze Spell (Level 8) Overgrowth Spell (Level 5) |
When will the April 2026 update release in Clash of Clans
Although the April update has been officially confirmed, the dates are not out yet. But if we are to believe the latest leaks, a new Dragon Duke Equipment Boost Event is set to arrive on April 27, 2026, so we might be getting the update on the same day too.
