We have you covered for all of tonight’s UFC Vegas 116 results, including the heavyweight contest between Marcus Buchecha and Ryan Spann.
Buchecha (5-3-1 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since fighting to a draw with Kennedy Nzechukwu this past December at UFC Vegas 112. Prior to that contest, the jiu-jitsu ace was coming off a decision loss to Martin Buday in his Octagon debut.
Meanwhile, Ryan Spann (24-11 MMA) most previously competed in July of last year, where he scored a first-round submission victory over Lukasz Brzeski. ‘Superman’ has gone 2-3 over his past five fights overall.

Round one of this UFC Vegas 116 main card heavyweight matchup begins and Ryan Spann throws out a jab. Marcus Buchecha answers with a solid low kick. A nice right hand over the top by ‘Superman’. Buchecha dives for a takedown. He can’t get it but has lured Spann into fighting on the canvas. Some heavy shots from the top by Spann. The Brazilian scrambles and is able to get Spann’s back as they return to their feet. Marcus drags Ryan down to the canvas and is working from half guard. Ryan Spann scrambles and is able to escape and get back up to his feet. Marcus Buchecha with a front kick. He dives on a takedown attempt. Spann avoids but once again takes top position on the ground. Under two minutes remain in the opening round. Spann breaks free and tells Marcus to stand back up. ‘Superman’ with a front kick to the body and then a good jab. Marcus Buchecha dives for a takedown. He can’t secure it but grabs on to a leg lock. Spann avoids and is now back in top position on the Octagon canvas. The Texan with a nice right hand. Now a pair of hammer fists to close out the round.
Round two of this heavyweight contest begins and Marcus Buchecha comes forward with early pressure. He throws out a jab but the referee steps in and warns him against throwing strikes with an open hand. We restart and Ryan Spann throws a jab. Another warning from Herb Dean to the Brazilian about a possible eye poke. We restart and Spann throws an uppercut. Marcus shoots in and once again is stuffed. ‘Superman’ threatens with a guillotine choke. He lets that go and gets back to range while standing. Ryan Spann with a big 1-2 and the right hand sends Buchecha crashing to the canvas. This one is all over! WOW!
