Will it finally be time to see Virtua Fighter 6 officially?
When you think of seeing big fighting game announcements, you probably imagine them taking place at events like Evo or The Game Awards, but it seems like the first week of June may end up ranking pretty highly up there too now.
Even with E3 being a thing of the past, this week is shaping up to potentially hold quite a few big reveals for fighting game fans.
We already have at least one reveal confirmed as well as a couple that are very likely and a few others that could show up.
The first location to keep yours eyes on is happening tomorrow, June 2, with Sony’s new State of Play stream beginning at 2 p.m. PT.
Summer Game Fest 2026’s main showcase is also happening this Friday, June 5, at 2 p.m. PT too.
There’s also the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7 at 10 a.m. PT, so perhaps something else could show up there as well.
You can check out a full breakdown of titles we could likely see reveals for this week below.
Although it won’t be at either of the shows, Riot Games confirmed last week that Senna’s gameplay trailer for 2XKO will be arriving tomorrow, June 2.
The League of Legends fighting game is going to be receiving Senna as the third post-launch champion on June 9 following Caitlyn and Akali.
There are still three more characters left to be revealed who are scheduled to release in 2026 as well.
We’re now around just two months away from the launch of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and there’s still six fighters left to be announced for the main roster.
Since it is a PlayStation-owned game, Marvel Tokon’s next trailer is presumably showing up at the State of Play event where they will show either the rest of Doctor Doom or Ghost Rider’s teams following The Fighting Avengers last month.
The other unannounced team we suspect will then be unveiled later this month at Evo 2026.
Street Fighter 6 just received Ingrid as the final Season 3 DLC character last week, but players of course will be looking forward to what is coming next.
We’ve already talked a good bit about where we’re expecting Street Fighter 6 Season 4 to show up and begin, and the most likely candidate is the Summer Game Fest showcase on Friday.
The Summer Game Fest served as the reveal locations for the game’s Season 2 and Season 3 characters, so we’ll have to see if the rumors surrounding SF6 Season 4 are true or not.
Many fighting game fans were given an inadvertent sneak peek at a big upcoming fighter recently with the leak of Virtua Fighter Crossroads’ footage online.
This suggests that a new trailer should officially be coming for Virtua Fighter 6 very soon, and there’s a strong chance it’ll happen this week.
Given Sega’s previous VF relationships with PlayStation and Geoff Keighley’s events, we could see Virtua Fighter Crossroads show up at either the State of Play or at Summer Game Fest though of course nothing has been confirmed on that front.
Koei Tecmo suddenly came back earlier this year and announced Dead or Alive 6 Last Round and the next Dead or Alive entry at the last State of Play.
Although it’s still likely too early to see the new mainline title again, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is launching later this month.
So either show this week would make for a good time to reveal some of the new DLC characters coming to Last Round or any other surprises Koei Tecmo may have hiding.
