KONGSBERG, Norway. Kongsberg signed a NOK 1.1 billion contract with General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada to supply PROTECTOR RS4 Remote Weapon Systems for the Canadian Army’s Armoured Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV) program, the company announced in a statement.
The RS4 systems will be integrated onto ACSV vehicles as part of a follow-on procurement, building on earlier deliveries of the same weapon system for the platform, the statement reads. Kongsberg says the order continues its work with General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada on the Canadian vehicle program.
The PROTECTOR RS4 is a remotely operated weapon station designed for integration on military vehicles and is part of Kongsberg’s broader PROTECTOR family of Remote Weapon Systems, according to the statement. The company says the system is already in service with defense customers and can be integrated across multiple vehicle platforms.
