Nate Diaz is confident that he and former UFC double champion Conor McGregor will meet for a third time, whether inside or outside the octagon. Yesterday, at the Ki MMA launch party, Diaz talked about a potential trilogy bout with McGregor.
The Stockton native told Red Corner MMA:
“We’re going to have a trilogy. When he’s in action, and I’m in action, and s**t’s happening, we’re going to meet.”
When asked if he would be interested in sharing the BKFC ring with “The Notorious,” Diaz paused briefly before adding:
“Whatever, wherever, whenever… Me and him are gonna fight.”

Conor McGregor is currently recovering from injuries; meanwhile, Nate Diaz is a free agent
After five years away from competition, Conor McGregor returned to the octagon at UFC 329 to run it back with Max Holloway. However, his return plans were ruined as he tore his ACL and meniscus in just 69 seconds and lost via TKO (injury).
“The Notorious” underwent surgery a few weeks ago and expects to return during International Fight Week 2027 for the final fight of his UFC contract. After that, he will become a free agent, and the 38-year-old’s recent remarks suggest that he may not be interested in re-signing with the UFC.
Diaz, meanwhile, is currently a free agent. The 41-year-old returned to MMA earlier this year after a four-year hiatus to face Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1 and suffered a second-round TKO loss after taking heavy damage and being bloodied, prompting his corner to stop the bout.
Diaz and McGregor each hold one UFC win over the other. With the Irishman heading toward free agency, a third meeting could take place in the boxing ring under the MVP, Ki MMA, or BKFC banner.
