UFC lightweight contender Mauricio Ruffy has hinted at upcoming fight news just weeks after a devastating knockout loss inside the octagon.
Ruffy most recently locked horns with Arman Tsarukyan in the co-main event of UFC 331 and was sent to the shadow realm in Round 1 by “Batman.
A few weeks after the setback, the Brazilian knockout artist has already started hitting the pads and most recently shared a training clip of himself with the following caption:
“News coming soon.”
Check out the post below:
Following his loss at UFC 331, Ruffy received a 45-day medical suspension, including 30 days without contact. He also faces a 60-day suspension unless the cut below his eye is diagnosed and cleared by a physician.
Who’s Mauricio Ruffy expected to fight next?
Multiple media outlets have reported that Mauricio Ruffy could be facing Salahdine Parnasse next. The former KSW double champion made his UFC debut in Paris against veteran Dan Hooker and knocked out “The Hangman” in the first round to announce his arrival in the 155-pound division with a bang.

Parnasse wants to fight Max Holloway next, but “Blessed” is not expected to fight again this year. Holloway has said he is willing to wait until 2027 for a potential trilogy bout with Conor McGregor, once “The Notorious” recovers and is ready for one last dance.
The UFC newcomer’s manager has bigger plans for the 28-year-old and believes Paddy Pimblett, Holloway, or Arman Tsarukyan could be his next opponent. However, Holloway is unlikely to return until 2027, as mentioned before. Pimblett is expected to face Ilia Topuria next year, and Tsarukyan would most likely fight UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
Thus, No. 8-ranked lightweight contender Mauricio Ruffy could be a great matchup for the No. 9-ranked Parnasse if this bout materializes.
