Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is just over two months away from release, and we now know almost every character on the main roster.
During today’s State of Play event, PlayStation and Arc System Works announced Magneto, Green Goblin and Carnage for Marvel Tokon.
We of course already knew about Doctor Doom from the very beginning, but the rest of the main villains are finally on display.
Thanks to the new PlayStation Blog post, we also have some more information as to how the new fighters are going to play.
Magneto’s gameplay revolves around his mutant powers where he is shown creating projectiles of scrap metal that can leave debris on the stage to further enhance his abilities.
Green Goblin can either ride his glider or summon it to attack the opponent as the Spider-Man villain uses his tricky pumpkin bombs and razor bats to mess with opponents.
Finally, Carnage can use his symbiote powers to stretch and transform his body with crazy range.
He is said to have a “symbiote-infested” state as well, which boosts his abilities and drain health even from guarding enemies.
After hearing about him for a while now, ArcSys finally showed off the being pulling the strings of the story in The Champion alongside The Promoter bringing together the top heroes and villains from the Marvel universe.
Their English voice cast was also revealed with Magneto portrayed by James Arnold Taylor again, Steve Blum as Green Goblin (who is already Wolverine too), and Carnage is voiced by Kellen Goff.
They’ll be joining the cast of the 14 previously revealed heroes and villains including The Fighting Avengers team made up of Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Black Panther, Amazing Guardians of Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord and Peni Parker, and the Unbreakable X-Men featuring Storm, Wolverine, Magik and Danger.
There’s still three more characters left to be announced in Ghost Rider’s team as well as the Year 1 DLC characters with the former at least likely showing up later this month at Evo 2026.
Speaking of the big event, Sony also confirmed Marvel Tokon is going to have a new demo at Evo featuring Magneto as well as the New York (Night) stage.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 5 and PC on August 6, 2026, and you can check out our pre-order guide for the incoming fighting game here if you haven’t already.
