Justin Gaethje is looking to teach Ilia Topuria a lesson on Sunday on the White House lawn.
Gaethje is set to unify the lightweight titles against Topuria in the main event of the UFC White House event. Although Gaethje is a massive underdog, he has full confidence in his skill set that he won’t just be able to beat Topuria, but can KO him.
“The trash talk is him being overconfident; he thinks he’s unbeatable. I think it’s a huge mistake; he’s forgetting how much danger he is going to be in. I’m here to teach him that lesson,” Gaethje said on UFC Countdown. “This whole fight, I want to leave everything out there. I absolutely want to push the pace, take his confidence away, and then find a finish. When I do, it will be amazing for my country, for my family, for me.”
If Gaethje can get a stoppage win, it would be a massive upset and would be a statement-making win for the American on the White House lawn.
Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria are taking shots at one another
The lead-up to the UFC White House main event between Gaethje and Topuria has been full of trash talk.
Just days before the event, the two had a heated back-and-forth on X as Gaethje called out Topuria for being an ‘insufferable little b*tch.’
“Proving my point,” Gaethje wrote on X. “Insufferable little bitch boy. Never said a thing about your wife. You want to speak words to my father then act like I crossed some line. We already fighting buddy.”
Topuria, meanwhile, was quick to respond to Gaethje and claimed he would break the American.
“You should’ve kept your father out of this,” Topuria wrote. “He was the one calling me a short guy and saying you’d smash me, all while holding a beer in his hand. Then you started talking about my divorce and telling the world you wouldn’t want to be my roommate. Idiot. First, we’re fighting, not dating. Second, I’m not looking for a roommate. When I put you to sleep and you’re lying there next to the rose, I’ll look at your father and ask him one simple question: Who’s the short one now? I’m gonna break you, Justin.”
Justin Gaethje enters his title fight coming off an upset win over Paddy Pimblett to become the interim champ.
