Jennifer Hill — who joined the General Services Administration as an advisor to Administrator Edward Forst in February — has been named the Commissioner of the agency’s Federal Acquisition Service, GSA announced Wednesday morning.
Since joining GSA, she has worked with FAS leadership to improve government operations through procurement consolidation, streamlined processes and the strategic use of the federal government’s purchasing power, according to a press release.
“I’m excited to execute on the Administrator’s vision for GSA acquisition: buy smarter, move faster, and reduce fraud,” Hill said in the release.
Before entering government, Hill spent 30 years at many financial companies, including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and Citi, according to her LinkedIn. Over the past 10 years, she has consulted for financial services companies in asset management, specialized lending, banking and brokerage, according to the release.
Laura Stanton had been serving as acting FAS commissioner since April, when the previous acquisition head, Josh Gruenbaum, left GSA. Stanton has been deputy FAS commissioner since April 2025, a position the agency confirmed she will return to.
GSA also announced Wednesday that Mark Weiss has been named the Commissioner of the Public Buildings Service. Weiss is an executive vice chairman at Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services firm, and has 42 years of experience in commercial real estate, the release said.
“We will continue to advance the Trump-Vance Administration’s objectives and maintain the integrity of the federal government’s real estate portfolio,” Weiss said in the release.
