Curtis Blaydes took it out on Ciryl Gane in a recent Instagram clip he shared on his page.
Gane is soon set to take on Josh Hokit in the main event of UFC 334, which will also see the Frenchman defend his heavyweight title for the first time.
Despite his impressive resume, Gane has gained notoriety for his ‘alleged’ illegal strikes in multiple fights, with the Alex Pereira and Tom Aspinall bouts being notable examples.
Pinpointing his accidental eye pokes as seemingly deliberate, Blaydes posted a video on IG explaining that it is not that hard to follow the rules.

And in the comments section, Blaydes was asked by a fan if Gane getting away with these ‘alleged’ back-of-the-head strikes and eye pokes had to do with his nationality (French). The fan’s comment read:
Curt do you think theres a reason he gets opportunity after opportunity without repercussion meanwhile Volkov has to fight his life off and still might not get a title shot even after getting robbed vs Gane. Is it cause he’s french? Imavov is a huge cheat too.
Blaydes had a one-word response to the same, writing:
100%.

Ciryl Gane hasn’t Lost Since his Defeat to Jon Jones back in March 2023
It was UFC 285, and Ciryl Gane’s second shot at the UFC heavyweight belt, and his opponent was arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, Jon Jones.

In what was the only fight that made Gane look like an amateur, Jones wasted no time in taking the Frenchman to the ground before submitting him just over 2 minutes into the first round.
Since then, Gane has bounced back with 3 wins in 4 fights, with one fight against Tom Aspinall ending in a no-contest.
