The Iran War that began in February has led to 17 U.S. casualties.
The Department of Defense on Monday identified the two fallen U.S. service members who lost their lives last week.
The two active-duty soldiers who were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve have been identified as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, who was killed in action on July 18. Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, was killed in action on July 17, during a same-day enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
The incident remains under investigation and the identities of the fallen were kept internal as next of kin were notified.
Feehan was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, according to DOD. Pvt. Gonzales was assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air Missile Defense Command, Ansbach, Germany.
