Din Thomas is set for a double-quick retirement U-turn after the recent Gillian Robertson controversy at UFC 330.
At the UFC 330 post-show, the former fighter-turned-analyst abruptly announced he was retiring from cornering fighters after Robertson’s loss to Mackenzie Dern in her title fight.
The timing and the way he announced it saw Thomas earn the fury of the MMA community. There were several notable names who called him out, and Sean Strickland was one among them. Taking to X, the middleweight champ wrote:
Din Thomas is a f*cking c*nt.. Ive had my a*s kicked in multiple weight classes through my career and won two titles…Youre a d*ckhead. Its probably better you retire. Youre a sh*t coach. You only lose when you quit… Din sounds like youre a f*cking loser.

UFC commentator Jon Anik didn’t hold back either. He said on his Anik & Florian Podcast:
There was a lack of coaching. And he [Din Thomas] seemed aloof, almost looking off and it’s hard for me as his friend and colleague to sort of come on and say these words…This is nothing I wouldn’t say to his face. I was stunned to see how not-present he was in her corner…I didn’t think emotionally he was even fired up as I was (for the fight).

However, there were very few who had Thomas’ back, and Tyron Woodley was one. In an interview with Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, the former welterweight champ extended support to his long-term friend and coach, Thomas. Here is what he had to say:
Everybody wants to say something because it’s fun to jump on and go with it ‘Oh, it’s disgraceful.’ Sometimes it’s the people he works with too. Some people that are smiling in his face…I’m saying that he has freedom to say whatever he wanna say when he wanna say it.

After All the Drama, Din Thomas Set to Corner Sean Brady against Gabriel Bonfim
Amid all the drama, Din Thomas might have made the quickest retirement U-turn after he seemed to confirm that he will be cornering Sean Brady in his upcoming fight against Gabriel Bonfim (reportedly a main event in November).
On the UFC on Paramount+ Show, Deep Waters, featuring Jorge Masvidal, Chris Weidman, and Dustin Poirier, Thomas was asked by Weidman:
So, you’re not going to corner Sean Brady or you are?
Thomas replied:
I am.
His reply stunned the entire crew and later left Thomas himself confused about his decision.
