A current UFC champion predicts that Conor McGregor will make it look easy in his fighting return after a five-year hiatus.
Future UFC Hall of Famer Conor McGregor will make his first walk to the Octagon in five years this Saturday at UFC 329 against Max Holloway. McGregor is looking for his first UFC win since January 2020, when he knocked out welterweight legend Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
A nasty leg break suffered at UFC 264 left McGregor’s career in limbo. Five years after UFC 264, McGregor will look to secure one of the most miraculous comeback wins in Mixed Martial Arts history this weekend.
McGregor enters UFC 326 as a modest underdog against the former BMF titleholder Holloway. Despite a unanimous decision loss against Charles Oliveira in his most recent outing, Holloway is still widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
But one of the best fighters in the world believes McGregor will pull off another miraculous knockout win.
Tom Aspinall picks Conor McGregor to hand Max Holloway his second career KO
In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall picked McGregor to earn a quick finish at UFC 329.
“I’ve heard a couple of McGregor interviews,” Aspinall said of McGregor.
“I was very impressed with what he was talking about, how calm he seemed, and how focused he seemed. I know it’s just an interview, and it doesn’t mean anything. But he’s up against it against an active guy like Max Holloway. The thing is that power doesn’t leave; he needs one shot, and it could be over.
“I’m more favoring towards a McGregor win, to be honest,” Aspinall continued on McGregor. “I think Conor McGregor [wins by] round one knockout. I think he’s gonna land the big left bomber on him.” (h/t Bloody Elbow)
