Hello, Robert?
Although it just began months ago, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is quickly approaching the end of its second season already, but there’s still a few characters left joining the roster soon.
During Evo Japan 2026, SNK revealed Mr. Karate as Fatal Fury’s fifth DLC fighter for Season 2 though you may notice a few things different about him.
The martial artist wearing a tengu mask has returned to walk the streets of South Town again except there appears to be another man behind it.
As some fans probably already put together from the previous teasers, the role of Mr. Karate has seemingly fallen on the shoulders of Robert Garcia.
Previously, his master Takuma Sakazaki donned the mask where he was succeeded by his son Ryo as Mr. Karate II for a handful of appearances.
Interestingly, Robert appears to have the title of just Mr. Karate and not Mr. Karate III or something else though we don’t know what’s going on with that exactly yet.
This Fatal Fury teaser doesn’t offer up a look at his gameplay, but they do show off Robert’s new design wearing a fancy coat like a cape and his hair turning gray as the years have passed.
Robert was of course one of the main characters of the Art of Fighting series, which takes place before Fatal Fury, so it makes sense that this Mr. Karate is quite a bit older now.
It’ll be interesting to see if Mr. Karate’s inclusion here is connected to the new Art of Fighting game in development over at SNK, though, he’s not the first AoF character to join City of the Wolves with Mr. Big hitting the streets again in Season 1 too.
Mr. Karate is set to join the Season 2 cast featuring Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser and the upcoming Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star.
SNK didn’t give his release date here, but we know Mr. Karate is arriving in South Town sometime in May.
The first anniversary sale for Fatal Fury is still underway until May 6 as well, so interested players can pick up the complete package at a great price right now.
