Nate Diaz versus Mike Perry will broadcast on Netflix this Saturday and a fighter who beat Diaz in a UFC title bout has offered his thoughts on this MVP MMA 1 contest. One of Henderson’s big career performances came in his Nate Diaz fight where ‘Bendo’ successfully defended his UFC lightweight crown.
When asked for his thoughts on that Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry fight for MVP MMA 1 on Netflix fight that’s coming up this weekend as of this recording Henderson said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I think that Nate [Diaz] versus Mike Perry, I think that’s going to be a good fight. I think it’ll be a fun fight to watch. Me as a fan, that’s a fight I would actually pay money to watch. I wouldn’t pay a whole lot of money to watch a lot of other fights, but Nate against Mike, that’s such a dynamic difference of styles. Like it could be a clash. I would pay money to watch that fight.”
Nate Diaz urges fighters to navigate free agency
Benson Henderson made big waves years ago with his free agent maneuvering that lead him into a big contractual agreement with Bellator MMA and Nate Diaz embodies that kind of free agency navigation today. After having boxing bouts with Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal with a return to MMA set to transpire in the coming hours, Diaz is wanting to let fighters know that they should get a lay of the land but without casting aspersions at the UFC.
With the backdrop of people theorizing that a Conor McGregor trilogy might be booked with the Stockton native also mentioning the UFC had some loose talks with him, albeit not specifically mapping out a rubber match with ‘The Notorious’, Diaz said [via MMA Fighting],
“I was just weighing out my options and I thought it was the best option for the time, for the moment. He’s the biggest name outside the UFC doing things, like how I’m trying to do. That’s what fighters should be doing and we can set an example like I was already trying to do but it takes two to tango and there’s not much out there. Not to mention, they got the Netflix combined with it so that’s a two-for-one.”
