Defense Health officials are advising Tricare beneficiaries that the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS, will be temporarily unavailable this weekend.The planned outage is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, Oct. 9, and end Sunday, Oct. 11. The Health and Human Services Department, with a single email, is closing out accommodation requests from employees with disabilities or medical conditions. Several HHS employees told Government Executive that the department administratively closed out their reasonable accommodation requests over failing to provide supporting medical documentation within 20 calendar days. Impacted employees, however, shared evidence that they submitted their medical documentation before the deadline.
