For Anthony Hernandez, a little home cooking at UFC Sacramento might be exactly what he needs to get himself back on track for a title shot.Raised in Dunnigan, just a quick trip up the highway from the California capital, Hernandez competes for the first time since a disappointing loss to Sean Strickland this past February. Hernandez saw an eight-fight win streak end and a title shot fall out of reach, but rather than mope about it, “Fluffy” decided to team up with Strickland—who regained the middleweight championship in his next fight—and focus on shoring up the weaknesses that led to…

A few weeks ago, we left the house to get ice cream and drove our car down the street. A bit down the road, a woman was walking in the same direction we drove, so she had her back to us and couldn’t see our car. As we came up to her, she suddenly, without warning or bothering to look first, crossed the road. Right in front of our car… It took some quick action and fancy maneuvering not to hit her. Which succeeded, and as we drove on, we could see her only reaction was a mild look of…

Lerryan Douglas enters the UFC cage for a second time Saturday night in Sacramento, facing off with Jamall Emmers after flooring Julian Erosa in brutal fashion in his debut this past March, and feels better prepared and more motivated after working in the gym with vale tudo legend Marco Ruas.Ruas is a longtime friend of Douglas’ manager and his family and “an inspiration” for the featherweight talent, who was born five months before Ruas won the UFC 7 one-night tournament. Ruas beat Paul Varelans, Remco Pardoel and Larry Cureton that night in September of 1995, and 31 years later they’re…

Every year since 2001, the Mr. Olympia’s iconic main event “finals” begin with the presentation of colors by members of a United States Honor Guard unit, followed by the singing of the national anthem. This tradition, started by inaugural IFBB Pro League President Ben Weider, serves as a reminder to the audience watching, the athletes competing, and even those that make the Olympia happen that the biggest bodybuilding show in the world thrives thanks in part to the support and protection of those that wear the nation’s uniform. The connections between the military and the Olympia only begin there. The…

The National Treasury Employees Union is asking a federal judge to block a recent IRS decision prohibiting its employees from taking annual leave or sick leave time they haven’t accrued yet. NTEU, in a lawsuit filed Thursday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, argued that the IRS workforce policy change should be declared “null and void” because it was made by Frank Bisignano, who is leading the agency as its “chief executive officer,” a new title created under the Trump administration. Bisignano is also the Senate-confirmed commissioner of the Social Security Administration, which rolled out the same prohibition…

As Thailand prepares to host the 2026 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, it finds itself at an economic inflection point. As the second-largest economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) after Indonesia, it remains one of the region’s most sophisticated manufacturing and service economies, with an established automotive industry and growing electronics and digital services. Yet these advantages have not translated into stronger growth. Although Thailand’s economy has expanded by an annual average of 3.2 percent over the past twenty-five years—a little faster than the global average of 3 percent—growth is expected to slow sharply to around 1.5 percent…

Building on its long-running Program of Record with the US Navy, Raytheon is stepping up its export pursuits for its AN/SPY-6(V) S-band Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) family, positioning the system for key frigate programs in Germany, Japan, and Denmark. Germany has already selected AN/SPY-6 as the prime sensor for its new F127 air defense frigates, while Japan is considering the radar for its Mogami-class frigates. With AN/SPY-6(V)3 hardware assets potentially available for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) as a result of the US Navy’s decision to end the FFG-62 Constellation-class frigate programme, Raytheon is now positioning for other international…

The Season 4 patch applied adjustments to every character in Street Fighter 6. It also added Yasmine as a new playable character. Many of Season 3’s top tiers got nerfed. Ed, for example, has dropped significantly due to his nerfs. As such, many people are beginning to believe that Ryu might be the game’s strongest character since he didn’t really get hit by notable nerfs. Chico recently released his Season…

On board the flight were the pilots, two employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and four contractors. BECKY BOHRER August 21, 2026 6:14 pm 3 min read JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A plane that crashed at a remote military site in western Alaska, killing all eight people on board, was making its second runway approach in heavy fog when it lost contact, authorities said Friday. The Cessna’s two pilots could not see the gravel airstrip and were flying solely by instruments when the plane crashed about midday Thursday, Clint Johnson, the National Transportation Board’s Alaska region chief, told…
