The Georgia Army National Guard successfully launched a new program this month that aims to transform troops across the state into skilled drone pilots. The Unmanned Aerial Systems Operator’s Course primarily focuses on the use of small, first-person view quadcopter drones but hopes to teach participants skills that will enable them to deploy larger unmanned systems in the field over time. The House and Senate’s conferenced version of a fiscal 2026 defense budget would restore funding for the Navy’s next-generation F/A-XX fighter and up the Pentagon’s spending request on the Air Force’s F-47.In materials released Monday, the House Appropriations Committee said the compromise $839 billion spending bill would provide $3.9 billion for the military’s sixth-generation aircraft. The maintainer of popular open-source data transfer tool cURL has ended the project’s bug bounty program after maintainers struggled to assess a flood of AI-generated contributions. Curler-in-chief Daniel Stenberg last week lodged a GitHub commit named “BUG-BOUNTY.md: we stop the bug-bounty end of Jan 2026”.
