COCOA, FL — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night after allegedly confronting another individual with a rifle during a dispute at an apartment complex, according to the Cocoa Police Department. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the 1634 Building at Oak Meadows Apartments. Authorities say Jyuri Smith, 21, approached a 22-year-old male with whom he had an ongoing conflict. Witness statements indicate Smith was armed with a rifle at the time.
