In the early days of the UFC, Tank Abbott was one of the most must-see fighters thanks to his incredibly heavy hands and a style that just screamed fan-friendly as he was always gunning to deliver a brutal knockout. While Abbott’s initial UFC run only lasted for about three years, he did eventually return for a brief three-fight stint in 2003 where he suffered three straight losses before exiting the promotion again. PFL sensation Abdoul Abdouraguimov will finally make his return to the cage on Saturday in Dubai, facing off with short-notice replacement Kendly St. Louis and feels a different man after a 14-month layoff.“Lazy King” is a fan-favorite in PFL, especially at shows held in France, but felt that being expected to deliver both inside and outside of the cages became “a trap.”“To be honest, I was like that in some part of my career,” Abdouraguimov told MMA Fighting. “I was just listening around me and I wanted to prove [myself]. Talent is a given in the NFL. What separates players isn’t always explosiveness or potential. It’s reliability under pressure–when things don’t go the way that they were diagramed during practice. As injuries reshaped depth charts and tested continuity this past season for the San Francisco 49ers, they moved forward with an unsettling calm. Their standard never fluctuated, nor did their expectations soften. For wide receiver Skyy Moore, who stepped into a fluid role that demanded constant readiness, the experience reinforced a belief he’s been quietly building: durability as a competitive advantage. “They have a way they do things,” Moore said.…

Imagine a single aircraft lifting off, climbing higher than commercial jets, and then, almost casually, keeping watch over an ocean the size of a continent for an entire day. No pilot. No cockpit chatter. Just sensors, data streams, and patience. That’s the MQ-4C Triton, and it’s one of the most consequential aircraft most people never think about. At first glance, the MQ-4C Triton looks like another long-winged military drone. Long nose, slender body, wings that seem to go on forever. But that surface impression misses the point.Triton isn’t built to chase targets or drop weapons. It’s built to notice things that…

WASHINGTON — Years after announcing a deal, Boeing is ending plans to sell its F-15EX Eagle II fighter jet to Indonesia, the company confirmed today.  The planemaker previously planned to sell Jakarta up to 24 F-15EXs, dubbed the F-15ID, after an agreement was announced by both parties in 2023. The State Department cleared the sale in 2022. The memorandum of understanding signed at the time did not include timelines or price tags for the deal. In the over two years since the acquisition was announced, the Indonesian government never formalized plans to procure the aircraft. Seemingly as result, Boeing appears to…

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is asking 25 companies to demo their unmanned one-way attack drones at an upcoming evaluation event that will help determine a future prototype buy, it announced today. As part of the first phase of the Drone Dominance Program, the Department of Defense said it will conduct “the Gauntlet” from mid-February into March at Fort Benning, Ga. There, military operators will fly and evaluate the “low cost” drones to help decide who receives a share of orders expected to total $150 million.  Those that make the cut will then have five months to deliver the aerial weapons…

Since 2001, the United States has seen a persistent rise in violent attacks motivated by extremist ideologies targeting specific populations because of their identity-related characteristics. The research focuses on developing and demonstrating a proof-of-concept tool to assess the risk that a violent extremist group will escalate to terrorist activity. The tool integrates political, social, and behavioral factors to reveal the causal pathways that lead groups from rhetoric to violence. This dissertation aims to contribute a framework that supports…
