Movsar Evloev is already making Alexander Volkanovski nervous. The undefeated Russian fighter is going to challenge current and two-time featherweight champion Volkanovski later this month at UFC 333.
Both fighters have already discussed their game plan. The Aussie believes he has what it takes to counter Evloev’s wrestling, make the latter tired, drag him to deep waters, and then force him to fight a fight, which he doesn’t want to get involved in.
Volkanovski has said that once Evloev gets confused inside the octagon and starts to panic-punch, that is when “The Great” plans to finish him, and he truly believes he can stop the challenger at UFC 333.
Evloev, on the other hand, has said that he will aim to secure his first UFC finish when he faces the Aussie.
Alexander Volkanovski is getting Nervous before UFC 333 title bout
Alexander Volkanovski, in a recent video, admitted that although he never panics or gets nervous before fights, this time he’s a little nervous. Volkanovski added that he has competed in several five-round fights and rarely gasses out. However, the 37-year-old is pushing himself to the limit while training for UFC 333 so that his body gets used to the worst type of pain: “fatigue.” He said:
“I don’t get nervous, but I’ll probably get a little nervous for this… This is guaranteed to get you to your breaking point. The worst type of pain is fatigue. There’s no pain like that, and we know we have to get to that breaking point. That’s what this one’s all about.”

The 145-pound champion also said that against Evloev, it’s “going to be tough,” but even at 37, he still needs to maintain the standard he set over the years, fight like a champ, take the least amount of damage, and make a statement.
“I got a standard I need to keep, even at 37. I still got a standard. It’s going to be tough, but you need to get through these rounds, you need to get yourself ready. We need to be in the best physical, mental state as possible.”
“My plans are to go out there and not take too much damage, really set a statement and show these guys a fight with an undefeated prospect sounds good to me.”
