The backbone of the United States is its military, and the nation has long invested heavily in ensuring its military personnel receive exceptional training and access to the most advanced equipment. Since the creation of the All-Volunteer Force in 1973, the United States has relied on the willingness of Americans who choose to serve our country. To honor that service, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) was created in 1989 to support veterans’ transition to civilian life through healthcare, social services, and other benefits.
