Walsh College in Troy has partnered with DSDT College Inc., technology-focused college located near Michigan Central Station in Detroit that offers a variety of programs in areas such as web development, cybersecurity, and digital marketing.
The partnership is designed to create seamless pathways for DSDT graduates, especially military-connected students — including Career Skills Program (CSP) transitioning soldiers, military spouses, and veterans — seeking degrees in high-demand business and technology fields.
It offers students the opportunity to transfer credits from DSDT into Walsh College’s nationally recognized programs in areas such as business and information technology, including cybersecurity, AI, and machine learning.
“At Walsh College, we recognize true potential often begins with opportunity. This partnership with DSDT honors the technical expertise their students — both military and civilian — bring to the table,” says Dave Schippers, chief academic officer at Walsh College.
“By offering seamless pathways into advanced degrees in business, IT, AI, and cybersecurity, we’re not just transferring credits; we’re building bridges to carry skilled professionals toward leadership roles, resilient careers, and the future they’ve earned through hard work and determination.”
Jamie Harris, CEO at DSDT College, says, “Together, DSDT and Walsh are removing barriers, accelerating outcomes, and investing in the long-term success of every learner who walks through our doors.”
A key component of the partnership is DSDT’s strong connection to military service members through its CSP, with Walsh College offering flexible, transfer-friendly pathways to support their continued education. CSP participants can begin their academic journey at DSDT and seamlessly transition to Walsh to complete their degrees, gaining credentials that align with in-demand career paths.
DSDT students earning associate degrees or specialized certifications now can transfer qualifying credits directly into bachelor’s programs at Walsh College, accelerating their progress toward a four-year degree. Military students completing CSP coursework also may be eligible for transfer credit, providing a head start on a new career path.
Walsh College officials estimate that some 60 percent of DSDT students are pursuing programs with a clear pathway to a Walsh degree.
The partnership mirrors Walsh’s existing collaborations with community colleges across Michigan, offering students a clear, supported pathway to a four-year degree.
DSDT specializes in supporting the community and collaborating with local businesses, helping to ensure students are well-prepared for the job market. The college provides career-focused education and training.
