CHANTILLY, Virginia. General Dynamics Mission Systems won a $184 million U.S. Navy contract for full-rate production of Next Generation Electronic Attack Units (NGEAU) and associated sustainment support for the EA-18G Growler, the company announced in a statement.
The award moves NGEAU into full-rate production as part of the Navy’s EA-18G Growler Block II modernization program. General Dynamics describes the system as an open-architecture electronic-warfare capability intended to allow the fleet to adapt more rapidly as electronic threats and mission requirements change.
The production portion is being performed under a firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, while sustainment work is covered under a cost-plus-fixed-fee arrangement, according to the company. Work will be performed at General Dynamics Mission Systems’ Bloomington, Minnesota, facility beginning immediately and continuing through 2032.
