Amazon said September 13 that it is pausing work with the company that operated a cargo plane involved in a fatal crash in Miami September 6, reports BBC News
“After the tragic incident last weekend, we’ve spent time supporting the investigation and reviewing some of the surrounding circumstances, and we’ve decided to pause our operations with 21 Air, the operator of Flight 7598,” said Kelly Nantel, Amazon spokesperson. “We’ll continue working to support the investigation and everyone affected.”
The 21 Air-operated Boeing jet overshot a runway at Miami International Airport and overshot the runway, hitting several vehicles, killing five people on the ground.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation into the crash. Investigators released details that a pilot onboard the cargo plane noted that it was going too fast before it overshot the runway.
