Christian Eckerlin is heading back to Frankfurt with a stadium-sized task in front of him. “The King of Germany” will face former OKTAGON welterweight champion David “Pink Panther” Kozma at OKTAGON 94 on September 26 inside Deutsche Bank Park, where the promotion expects close to 60,000 fans.
The matchup brings Eckerlin, listed at 18-8 with one no contest, into the cage against Czech veteran Kozma, who enters at 34-15 following two wins in 2026. It is a major homecoming for Eckerlin, whose connection with the Frankfurt crowd has turned his appearances into some of the promotion’s most attended shows.
Eckerlin already knows what a Deutsche Bank Park walkout feels like. He headlined OKTAGON’s previous visit to the Eintracht Frankfurt stadium in 2024, defeating Christian Jungwirth as the event drew 60,000 spectators and set an MMA attendance benchmark. The 39-year-old returned to winning form against Matouš Kohout at OKTAGON 85 in March, taking a unanimous decision after a demanding three-round fight.

For Kozma, the trip to Germany gives him a chance to stop the home crowd from getting its dream ending. The 33-year-old held the OKTAGON welterweight title from 2018 through 2022 and made five successful defenses before Kaik Brito took the belt via third-round TKO. Kozma later endured three straight losses, including stoppages against Brito, Ion Surdu and Robert Pukač, but he has steadied the ship this year.
Kozma beat Jozef Wittner by unanimous decision in February, then followed it with a points win over David Zawada at OKTAGON 92 on August 1. Those results pushed “Pink Panther” to a two-fight streak and put a future run at the 77kg title back on the table. Before any belt talk, though, he has to get through one of the most recognisable faces in German MMA on German soil.
The national angle will be hard to miss: Eckerlin is set to carry the German flag in a stadium that knows his name, while Kozma arrives as one of Czech MMA’s longest-serving title figures. Neither man is walking into a quiet arena, and Eckerlin’s fan support could make the building feel less like a football stadium and more like a one-night fight town.
OKTAGON 94 has plenty happening around the main event. Frédéric Vosgröne meets returning Czech icon Karlos Vémola at an 89kg catchweight under the OKTAGON Celebrity Series banner. Vosgröne is unbeaten at 5-0, while Vémola, 38-9, returns after announcing his retirement.
Frankfurt’s Max Coga will take on Christian Jungwirth at welterweight, and rising 21-year-old Fedor Duric faces former UFC lightweight Marc Diakiese. It is a loaded stadium card, but Eckerlin versus Kozma has the cleanest setup: a Frankfurt favourite, a Czech former king, and 60,000 people ready to pick a side.
