KNL, a subsidiary of Telenor Group, has been appointed as a supplier under the United Kingdom’s Tactical Communication Systems Framework (RM6393). KNL has been admitted to both Lot 2 – Systems and Lot 3 – Components.
The estimated value of the framework is £4.7 billion for Lot 2 – Systems and £727 million for Lot 3 – Components. The framework agreement has an estimated total value of approximately £8 billion and a planned duration of eight years. Admission to both the Systems and Components lots reflects KNL’s capability to deliver both complete communications solutions and specialised technologies for mission-critical defence applications.
The appointment is an important milestone in KNL’s international growth strategy and strengthens the company’s presence in one of Europe’s most significant defence markets. Inclusion in the framework provides KNL with visibility into upcoming procurement opportunities and a recognised route to market within the UK defence sector.
“The United Kingdom is one of the world’s most important defence and security markets, and our inclusion in this framework further strengthens KNL’s position as a trusted international partner within the defence sector. We see significant long-term potential in the UK market and an opportunity to support British customers with proven communications solutions that address demanding operational requirements,” said Toni Lindén, CEO of KNL.
KNL strengthens its position in international defence communications markets
As part of Telenor Group, KNL has continued to expand its presence in international defence communications markets through strategic partnerships and customer engagements. Notable achievements include the framework agreement signed with the Finnish Defence Forces and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the procurement of KNL’s CNHF communication system, as well as ongoing cooperation with defence and security organisations across Europe.
These partnerships demonstrate KNL’s ability to deliver communications technologies that meet the demanding operational requirements of defence and security customers. The company’s 2025 financial results further reflect increasing demand for resilient defence communications capabilities and support KNL’s continued international growth.
Admission to the UK Tactical Communication Systems Framework builds on this momentum, strengthening KNL’s position in the international defence sector and providing a recognised route to engage with future opportunities in the UK market.
