The Patria-led eALLIANCE programme has received additional funding from Business Finland, enabling significant expansion of collaborative ecosystem research and development (R&D) activities in the coming years. With the additional funding, eALLIANCE is geared to generate an increase of nearly 300 M€ in combined R&D funding within the programme.
Within the eALLIANCE programme, Patria leads collaborative research, development and innovation activities with more than 60 leading technology companies, research institutes and universities. The objective is to integrate disruptive technologies from the civil, security and defence sectors to build safer societies. In addition, eALLIANCE aims to facilitate the development of new, innovative technologies and solutions for defence and security, and to help Finnish companies gain access to international defence markets.
“eALLIANCE is a unique initiative both in Finland and internationally. The additional Business Finland funding enables us to scale the already successful eALLIANCE ecosystem and deepen collaboration with both Finnish and international partners. Combining industrial capabilities with agile innovation networks creates tangible results. With the expanded programme, we can further strengthen cross-border collaboration and accelerate the development of new defence and security technologies,” says Matti Saarikko, Patria’s Chief Technology Officer.
After nearly two years of operation, eALLIANCE has already exceeded its initial targets for co-innovation projects and other collaboration, reflecting strong demand across the ecosystem. The expansion of the programme enables the launch of additional co-innovation projects and further development of the ecosystem. Two new work packages have been added, focusing on physical platforms and digital service business offerings.
