Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game was originally supposed to be released on July 2, 2026, but ended up getting delayed until July 23, 2026. The reason for this delay was actually to add previously unplanned content to the game.
By this point, we already know that the full base roster for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is made up of 12 characters — Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, Kyoshi, Avatar State Aang and Avatar State Korra.
We’ve already seen gameplay for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula and Kyoshi, but have yet to see anything for Ozai, Zaheer, Avatar State Aang and Avatar State Korra. We have to imagine that details about how these four play will be revealed relatively soon.
During a recent stream, we were provided with a sneak peek at the character select screen for the Story Mode of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. This provides us with our first look at the character icons for Ozai and Zaheer.
Curiously, there do not appear to be slots for Avatar State Aang and Avatar State Korra for the Story Mode. Their movesets will likely be incorporated into Aang and Korra’s stories.
Of course, this does give us an idea on where all the character slots will be positioned in the Vs Mode section of the game. Considering the size of the icons, there is plenty of room for DLC.
