Raiden has been a main staple of the Mortal Kombat series since the first entry back when it was released into the arcades on October 8, 1992. Although Raiden was absent from Mortal Kombat 3 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, not to mention how he became a hidden character in Mortal Kombat: Deception in the form of Dark Raiden, he’s otherwise been present in every other Mortal Kombat entry.
Of course, Raiden is even iconic enough to the point of securing a DLC slot for Injustice 2, a game that mostly features a roster made up of DC heroes and villains. Evidently, NetherRealm Studios felt confident enough with Raiden’s recognizability to have him represent the Mortal Kombat franchise as a whole.
One thing about Raiden that’s notable is the gibberish that he verbalizes during his Electric Fly special. To this day, it’s still not entirely clear what it is that Raiden is saying when he’s performing this action, but fans have nonetheless tried to understand it.
For example, SuperSisi recently posted a clip on X that teaches “correct pronunciation” with Raiden. At the very least, these pronunciations certainly sound about as correct as possible.
As such, one verbalization for Raiden’s gibberish includes “Icandosuhh.” There’s also something to be said for Ibigabiyah, Ahteteyahhh, Camusaysaaaaa, Dadycadaya and Cabayehhh.
Of course, who could forget something like the “JOHNNYBOUGHTACAR!” interpretation.
