The first encounter between middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland goes down Thursday at the UFC 328 pre-fight press conference with the action set to begin at 5 p.m. ET on Thursday.
A lot has been made about the volatility shared between Chimaev and Strickland, which has forced the UFC to hire extra security to work the event not to mention keeping the fighters separated from all the normal pre-fight activities. Thursday’s press conference marks the first time that Chimaev and Strickland are going to be in close proximity to each other so things could potentially get crazy.
Chimaev is making his first defense as champion after the mauled Dricus du Plessis this past August to win the belt. Meanwhile, Strickland is competing in his fourth title fight after he finished Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez in his most recent outing.
The UFC 328 co-main event fighters are also set to join Chimaev and Strickland on stage on Friday.
UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van is defending his title against Tatsuro Taira after they were originally scheduled to meet back in April at UFC 327. Van dealt with a minor injury that forced the fight to get pushed back and now the flyweights face off at the UFC 328 press conference.
The press conference begins at 5 p.m. ET/ 2 p.m. PT and you can watch in the video above.
